Overview: Kids Music Workshop (KWW) was founded by Owen Phiri in 2010, driven by his life-long passion for music and his desire to share that passion with the next generation. Owen’s journey in music began at the young age of six when he joined a school percussion band. His early experiences ignited a lifelong dedication to music, evolving into a role as a church drum player and later becoming a full-time musician by age 12. After a fulfilling music career that spanned until he was 30, Owen decided to devote his life to mentoring children and fostering their musical talents.

Target Age Group:
KWW welcomes children from the ages of 4 to 16, creating an inclusive environment that allows young musicians of all skill levels to thrive.

Centers: KWW has multiple centers to accommodate children from different areas:
- Kayasands (Informal Settlement in Fourways)
- Drieziek 5 (Orange Farm)
- Alexandra (Sandton)
- Mozambique: TLT Life Centre, Chimoio
Philosophy: At KWW, the philosophy centers around the belief that music is a vital form of expression that can empower children, build confidence, and forge lasting friendships. Owen emphasizes a supportive environment where children can explore their musical interests and grow alongside peers who share similar passions.
